The Rise Resort Development is a sought after 735 acre development in the Bella Vista
Highlands, 6.9 km west of Vernon’s city centre.
Existing developments at The Rise consist of the initial phases of Clearview, Sagecroft
and Sagecroft Villas and Watermark. Newer communities have been added including
The Ledge, The Vines and Vista Villas. There are additional communities in the
planning stages for future years.
The original vision for The Rise was to develop a comprehensive high-quality resort
consisting of 1200+ residences, a vineyard, winery, wine caves, beach house, walking
paths, a hotel, retail outlets, and equestrian centre. The current scope of the
development is significantly smaller than originally planned. The downturn in the real
estate market in 2008 resulted in Okanagan Hills Development Corporation (OHDC)
declaring bankruptcy before this vision could be realized. The initial investor group The
Rise Development Limited (TRDL) had a stake in the remaining un-serviced land and
assumed ownership of those lands. Through a series of events, TRDL sold the un-
serviced lands to Seacliff Properties a privately owned, Vancouver-based company that
actively invests in real estate opportunities with development potential. Seacliff is
subdividing the remaining lands and seeking opportunities to sell lands to other
developer/builders.
The Rise Resort Golf Course sits 400 meters above Lake Okanagan and began play in
2008. The 18 hole, 6900 yard course has 7 key water features, 12 spectacular view
holes and is the first Fred Couples Signature golf course in Western Canada. The new
clubhouse and restaurant “The Edge” is now open and accepting reservations.

The premier ski resort community of Silver Star Mountain Resort is located
approximately 22 km northeast of the City of Vernon and sits 1200 meters above the
Okanagan Valley. Winter and Summer activities are the major focus of the community
